A Christmas Carol by Me
Last night I was visited by three spirits... They taught me how, if I didn't stop spending so much money this time of year, I would never get out of debt. I told them to go screw themselves, that ain't ever going to happen. Ugh... I can't believe how much I spent this year, and only on family. Next year will only be worse because I will give to friends next year. Sometimes I'm so stupid, and stubborn... ~The End~

Yep, of course I went and saw Lord of the Rings: The Retun of the King on it's first night. No, I didn't go at midnight, that's just rediculous. If a movie ever becomes a part of my life that I need to miss a day of work to see it (while sleeping off the not going to bed until 4AM blues), please just shoot me.
My review of the movie goes something like this: Wow.
Seriously that's it... human words do not serve the 10+ hour epic justice. However, my review of the experience goes something more like this We went at the 8:30 show and the Googleplex 50 million screen theater. Only saw one person in costume, and it was a horrible Gandalf thing that looked more like Father time celebrating the upcoming new year. The theater was so poorly organized... ok, from 7:45 to 8:30 they had 5 showings of the movie. They made everyone stand in one line for this, and it was made worse by the fact that they only let in people for one theater at a time. So when the first 7:45 show was let in, everyone pushed and shoved to get ahead in the line, same thing for the second 7:45 show. Luckily the theater we had tickets for was the first theater they let in for the 8:30 show. Kinda sad though, because I never saw that beautiful babe in line behind us again. Oh well. Now you might think... a horrible line, it's not that bad. And maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have another "corral" not twenty feet away... and completely empty. But it gets worse... The movie's playing, the kids in the seats next to use were literally on the edge of their seat the whole time, until.... The whole movie was running smoothly, the good guys win, the ring is thrown into the mountain, the 30 minutes of epiloge starts. Then the film does something you only see in movies when they try to trick you. The scene gets a little jumpy, you can see the black line seperating the cells, then it stops and a hole grows from the center of the screen, and eventually consumes the scene. Yup, it's true! This never happens... never! Some people left by this time... they saw the ring get destroyed, they were happy. But I paid for a full movie, I was going to see a full movie. It took them 20 minutes to get the film fixed. And when they did, everyone started yelling out to rewind it because we missed a bit (as near as I can tell about 2 seconds, probably less). Try to explain to a room a screaming geeks that it can't be rewound anymore because what they missed was part of a lightbulb now. You would think all these people that could probably explain every detail of Warp technology would understand a basic concept like film.
So, I ended up not getting home until about 1:30AM. Had to get up in 4 hours. Thursday I was a zombie... a giddy zombie, but a zombie nonetheless.
If you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for??? Just pray that your film doesn't become a catch fire while you're watching.
