You wanna blast the Rammstein?
I just walked by the memorial service that is being held right outside my apartment. That was awkward.
I want to learn Spanish again. I doubt I would have said that when I was in high school.
Wouldn't it be fun to develop a neurosis that makes you feel the need to label every object in your room with a post-it that has the name of the object written on it?
I returned the iClick to Amazon but I have not yet received a refund. Amazon's policy states that they will refund an item 7-14 days after they receive it. I shipped it two weeks ago. So I have about a week before I yell at Amazon, thus scaring them into giving me free money like last time.

Silky, Sexy Guacamole
Last week I received an e-mail from the research professor who I had contacted in the fall regarding working on a research project. He mentioned that he will have cleared up some projects by Monday, and he asked me if I were still interested in working on a research project and if so then we could talk about it at some undergrad bioinformatics thing which I didn't have any information about. Knowing that this was too good of an opportunity to pass up, I replied showing my interest and inquiring about the bioinformatics thing. I then changed my poetry class to pass/no pass and dropped the honors seminar that I was in. Unfortunately he hasn't replied yet so I am still in the dark regarding when we can meet and talk about training me over at the supercomputer center. But considering the situation, I am quite certain that he will reply, as he went out of his way to specifically tell me that he had not forgotten about my interest in working on a research project.
At the moment this leaves me with almost one less class than before. That is, I am capable of caring much less about the poetry class without it making any difference whatsoever. The situation with the seminar is different. Let me first explain what the seminar is about. Essentially, the students in the seminar, along with the three CAT professors, are to explore the idea of the "X Moment" in order to develop a project for the spring quarter CAT courses. From what I've seen so far, an "X Moment" is an experience that forces an individual to completely rethink his place in the world. This shift in perception may present the individual with a choice of whether or not to pursue a new role with different responsibilities than before. There is usually significant risk involved with the choice of pursuing such an altered role. Or at least that's my current interpretation. Even though I dropped this seminar, I will still attend it on Monday. For some reason I think I can still get credit for the seminar if that research project never gets started. We'll see.

Reading the post regarding that physics quiz yesterday indicates that I take school too seriously. I will now work to change that.

Superconductors are sluts
Damnit. I just took a physics quiz (6 questions, worth a significant portion of my grade) and after carefully examining one of the questions, I found that Va was twice as big as Vb. So my brain turns that into "Vb is one half of Va" and then sends signals to my hand to mark the bubble corresponding to "Va = 1/2Vb" Approximately twenty steps away from the lecture hall I realize what I have just done. FUCK!

This blog has all kinds of bicycle anecdotes
I've always wondered what exactly would happen if I were biking down a crowded hill and someone walking suddenly jumped sideways. Yesterday between classes I was biking down such a hill and about 20 feet ahead of me, someone suddenly changed directions and walked right into a girl who was biking down the same hill, which almost knocked her off her bike. It didn't seem to make her any more cautious though, because about a minute later she caught up with me and zoomed by, weaving between people and such.

Commingled is a funny word
I just saw someone trying to ride their bicycle with no hands as I was on my way back to my apartment. First he tried with one hand, and he then would switch to the other hand. After a few switches, he was bicycling fairly steadily with no hands. About ten seconds later, another guy biked by with no hands, except he was reading a book and going very fast. Take that, first guy!
And all verbs become past tense

Cir-quit
Oh hell no. Why does Apple have to be so cool? Fortunately, I can still return the mp3 player that I bought a few months ago because of Amazon's holiday generousity:
"Items shipped between November 1, 2004 and December 31, 2004 may be returned until January 31, 2005 for a full refund"
Take that, normal 30 day limit on returns for full refunds. I got lucky since my mp3 player was shipped on November 3.
This quarter, I have 30 hours a week where I must be somewhere that is not here. My studying habits that seemed to begin at the end of last quarter have carried over to the beginning of this quarter. That is indeed a good thing.
Stuff:
1. Read people's poems and write feedback for them.
2. Read Oedipus the King for Honors Seminar.
3. Finish nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy problems.
4. Learn infrared spectroscopy.
5. Learn electromagnetism still.
6. Do math homework assignment.
7. Mention that I'm now a tutor for that computer science class that I took last quarter.
8. Return a book to the bookstore.
9. Return mp3 player to Amazon.
10. Publish post.
