I didn't hear you because I wasn't listening

So it looks like "offline for 36 hours" equals offline for 445.5 hours. ACT finally called and will fix the damaged ethernet port...on Monday.

New goal for the quarter in replace of "Get a job" is: start working on a Bioinformatics Research Project and worry about paying for college when I'm rich.

Emotivism
or
From an iMac in the library

I have been without the internet since I moved in on Friday because the ethernet port in my room is broken. The Administrative Computing and Telecommunications have still not replied to my request form. They have about 10 installation and repair people who do work for the entire campus as well as the rest of La Jolla. I recently started to question whether they even received my request form so I called them about it and they promptly told me to call resnet (which is wrong, because resnet are the people who told me to contact ACT). I call resnet anyway and get an automated response saying that they are busy and that it would take them 48 hours to reply. Fucking ACT.

Without an internet connection, I delayed scheduling an interview for the job I previously mentioned, and just now I got an e-mail informing me that they have stopped interviewing people for that position. Fucking ACT. I must now look for more jobs.

I've gone to all of my classes so far. I like them and I like my schedule. I am going to take Intro to Acting P/NP because it is a fun class and would be much less fun if I were concerned with my grade. Apparently I can take up to 25% of my classes P/NP but will only do so when the class doesn't involve studying. CSE 12 doesn't scare me. Everyone in CSE 12 is a nerd. There's like 100 of them. It's a nerd convention. I laugh at peoples.

I am now almost certain that my PHIL 1 professor last year though she was teaching PHIL 13, because it's the same class, and PHIL 1 is different. Point is, PHIL 13 won't be hard. Chem 140A invovles more work, but is manageable.

I'm going to buy a ticket to go to the Giants/Padres game on Wednesday. I have not seen a Giants game this year. I have not seen a Padres game ever. It costs $10. I must go.

I don't know mayonnaise

First goal at school: Get a job.

I found several that I am qualified for, are closer than my last job, pay more, and involve less hours. I applied for one. If I get it, I will have succeeded in my first goal and thus I will be satisifed.

Leaving tomorrow. Offline for 36 hours.

He's absolutely bonkers!

Must pack! I won't go to sleep until I'm reasonably ready to leave on Friday.

For the sake of nerdology

I measured one lap around the park and found that it was 0.50 miles. Therefore, 13.0 laps == 6.50 miles. Damn yo.

And how

I didn't wake up early or cut myself with a knife, but I did run 13 times around the park. That's like 6 miles. I'm awesome.

Don't Try

Today: woke up at 8am, cut my thumb open with a knife, ran 10 times around the park

Tomorrow: 7am, my arm, 11 times?

I like my women like I like my coffee...in a plastic cup

I think I've overcome my fear of spiders. That is, as long as they're not ridiculous and inside. If I didn't have a fear of heights (which I suppose is a fear of falling to my death from a really high place), I could go skydiving! Maybe if I were dying...no, I would be even more afraid to do it then.

Little Guy keeps opening my door and running away.

Do people who believe in God use a form of doublethink?

This blog has existed for more than 1000 days. There should be 1000 posts. There are not 1000 posts. A time machine fixes this easily. I know you have one.

This was posted 24 hours ago from when it was posted.

Yes, I purposely waited until near midnight to post this so that I will have posted on four consecutive days and then later editted the date so that it would actually be after midnight instead of five minutes before midnight even though I can make the time and date on each post on my blog whatever I choose regardless of when I choose to post it Hitler

On May 5, 2003, Noah wrote:

"I came to school on Sunday to study Compsci for six hours. Only three other nerds showed up to study. Mr. Paley spoke of his experiences at college for awhile. He said it was easier than high school. I can't judge the validity of that statement due to my lack of knowledge on the subject."

Now that I have completed a year of college I can begin to reflect on Mr. Paley's opinion. Is college easier than high school? A better question would be, "Were the first two quarters of college easier than your average semester of high school?" The answer to this question is yes. As for the spring quarter: no. Shit, no. That quarter kicked high school's ass in a bad way. I would go on about how much chem lab sucked, but since I've done that, I would rather ponder a method that I can use to wake up in the morning next quarter. I think I have become immune to the sound of my current alarm clock, evident from my ability last year to get up from my bed, walk across the room, and turn off the alarm clock every ten minutes for two hours without even waking up. With a new alarm clock, I might not be able to do this in my sleep as the extremely loud beeping sound would be different and it would actually wake me up.

In fall quarter last year I asked Brian why there are so many car accidents on nights with full moons, to which he replied, "Because people try to drive without headlights." I laughed for days.

The road rules episode that aired today featured the best mission that that show has ever had. To determine who wins 10k, the six victims from this season had to participate in a one-on-one boxing match with a person from last year's road rules. So basically they just put to people in a ring and had them beat the shit out of each other until one of them gave up. Best mission EVER! Not that I watch that show... *runs away*

11 days until perfect weather you're a fascist

I think the hottest day throughout the entire time that I was in San Diego last year was on the day I moved in. It was in the 80s, and after that the weather cooled to <70 for 8 months. Hopefully this year will be similar, because all I can think right now is "HOT!"

No hockey next season. It doesn't really make a difference because Sharks games aren't televised in SD. That is, unless they make it to the playoffs like they did last year, which is impossible because there won't be a season, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway. That is, unless there is a season, but that's unlikely because the NHLPA and the owners hate each other.

I get to vote in the upcoming election. I didn't vote in the gubernatorial recall because I was too lazy to send an absentee ballot. I know my vote will not count in this election (it will not determine who wins), but I will probably vote anyway. Every vote counts? If that were true, then every election would consist of one vote. This would involve rigging the election.

Yeah, I said it.

I'm moving back to school in less than two weeks. I'm enrolled in four courses: Chem 104A, Phil 13, Thac 1, and CSE 12. I don't know why I capitalize CSE and not the rest. Oh yeah, it's because CSE is an acronym. It will also be my hardest class and probably the one I enjoy the most. It will be hard because programming is time consuming and involves thinking, but I like that more than the work involved with the subjects of the other courses. Chem 140A is organic chemistry. That means I have to buy a book. Phil 13 is ethics. I took an introductory philosophy class last fall and the subject of that class was also ethics, so it should be easy. Thac 1 is introduction to acting. I don't think it involves work, but I'm not entirely sure. My schedule is such that I have class from 10-12 three times a week, and class from 2-3:30 & 5-6:30 two times a week. This leaves me with a very large block of time open everyday. I think I will like that...until I get a job. When that happens, I'll at least have a job.

3st

Plan continued through walking yet yielded no renting.

It's too hot to sleep, and I know if I try to then I will vision chess constantly. This also happens when one plays Tetris too much. It is difficult to escape a mental image of pieces falling (or in the case of chess, killing d00ds) with closed eyes or darkness.

B-B

I was going to photoshop a "Big Brother is Watching You" poster with GWB's face but a Google revealed that I'm not original.

It's too hot to hot. Think. Renting movie plan went abandoned with failure of the operation of transportation.

It better not be this hot at school.
