You haven't updated your webpage in 9 days

What? Oh yeah, where was I...

I am halfway through finals week at this moment. Yesterday consisted of my pre calc and bio ap finals. It turns out that I got an A on the math test I wrote about last post (which I posted right after I took it). In order for me to not get at least an A- in the class I calculated that I needed to get below a 61% on the final. I highly doubt that is what I got, so it is safe to assume I have some sort of an A in Pre Calc A. Biology AP, unfortunately, is a different story. My final consisted of 125 multiple choice questions that were taken from the AP exam. We had 100 minutes to complete the test, and I didn't think it was THAT difficult. There were many questions on small details that we did not really cover in the first semester but that we learned at some time or another. I don't think I did that great on those questions as I was unable to remember the exact answer. I don't want to get into the specifics because it doesn't matter. I already took the test and I can't take it again. What is done is done. Everyone in Dr. Snapp's class is taking the Bio final right now. Hahaha!

So yesterday was math and bio and today is web page design, computer math, and US history. I played games on Yahoo! in web page with Akash and Brian for the whole 110 minutes. I was going to do something like that right now in computer math (I don't have to take the exam) but I think I should study for the history final because it is some 200 points (100 multiple choice questions, 2 points each). What should I study? I don't know. Brandon said it was easy but I still think I should review. I also should put together my homework packet which is due today in history.

After school I have to walk to Emmon's house to work on the presentation for Film Lit. I really don't want to work on it because I DON'T CARE about Film Lit at this point. I also need to study for my Spanish subjunctive test and vocab quiz that are tomorrow sometime after school. Sigh.

Sickness

A period was horrible today. I sat in my chair staring at the clock on the computer waiting for the period to end. I didn't want to study for the math test I had next period because I was (am) feeling very sick. I have a sore throat and continuous headaches and I doubt that helped me do well on the math test. I think I will go home at lunch today because I really don't feel like going to Spanish or History. I have a quiz in Spanish that I didn't study for and a composition that I haven't corrected but that isn't why I don't want to go. Well it is one reason. Also, I think my head is going to explode. Next period, Biology, is the reason I didn't go home right after my math test. We're doing a lab or working in groups or something and I want to be there because I have to do a formal lab report about the lab and if I miss it completely I will be very behind. Going to History doesn't matter because Mr. Cheung isn't there and thus I would have a sub (in other words do busy work, watch a video, or stare at the wall.) I have to watch the Thin Red Line sometime after school for my Film Lit project. I probably should have watched it earlier this week because the film treatment I have to write is due on Tuesday and I believe Mrs. Kuiper specifically said to not leave it to Monday to write. Too late.

I hate banners that pop up while using Yahoo! because they look like porn. Whatever they are advertising there is always a women in her underwear lying on a couch.

It is really hard to concentrate on a math test when you can't breathe or swallow without a sharp pain and your head feels like it is being hit with a hammer over and over. I really don't want to go to Spanish and History.

Right now I have a sub for computer math and it is really irritating because she is sitting right behind me. I wonder if she can read this.

Dead Week

Dead Week, the week before finals, will certainly not be dead this year. Everything is due this coming week and it is filled with tests and quizes. It doesn't get any better the following week because I have all my finals and then I take the SAT on Saturday. I really wish I prepared myself for the SAT better but with only two weeks until I take it (for my second time) and a bunch of school work between now and then I don't think I can do anything that will improve my score by any considerable amount.

Today I worked on the Bio project, which is apparently about pheromones now, with Nathan at his house. We completed the introduction and started explaining how pheromones are created, secreted, and detected by ants. Tomorrow we have to give specific examples of ants that use pheromones and what effects they have on other ants, or something. I don't know. I want to talk about human pheromones and discuss experiments that have been done to try to find if they exist or not.

I just spent about 20 minutes looking at an SAT book and I have a head ache. The SAT is hard for me because I do not have a large vocabulary, I am not good at understanding things I read, and I do math slowly and carefully. Ugh.

I have a math test on Monday and I don't really know what it is about. I have a Spanish quiz on Monday on words I don't know. I also have to write a Diario about something that I haven't looked at. I have a board game project due sometime for history about WWI. I have an idea but I still have to make the board and write about a hundred trivia questions.

Hmm... I just spent another 20 minutes going through my SAT book. There are 9 sections of Word Groups (about 3 pages of words each) that I think I will learn over the next 9 days, starting with tomorrow of course. That will definitely help me with the analogies section (which unfortunately isn't what I had trouble on even with my limited vocabulary last SAT).

I guess I will study for my math test now or at least get out some past quizes and look through them.

SJ Suckie

Yesterday I didn't have a good reason for starting my homework at 11:30pm but today I do. After school, which incoveniently ended at 3:05 instead of 2:05 because of an assembly, I went to a review session for the Biology test on Friday. Somewhere around four Hoff drove Nathan and I to Nathan's house and Nathan copied the bibliography for our Bio research project on to a word processor and then printed it while I corrected a paper that his little brother wrote (I was bored and I like to correct English papers.) At around five we went to the train station (it left at 5:35pm) and we (Nathan, his brother, and I) met up with David (Nathan's dad) at 6 or so (in San Jose). We arrived at the Compaq Center, ate dinner, and watched the game for the next three hours. The St. Louis Blues completely dominated the game. I won't get into specifics as I often try not to use this page to talk about sports but the Sharks lost 6-2. I still think going to the game was worth it though. I have seen some 30 of the Sharks games this season on TV but I had never gone to one in my life until tonight. When I got home (about an hour ago) I watched the end of Cast Away with my family in the living room which leads me to turning on my computer and writing this post.

I use parentheses too much. First it was commas... and now it is parentheses... next what will it be... ellipses! No, I will never let that happen!

Skool

It is the first period of the day of the first day after winter break. I think I am a little more attentive after not learning anything that is school related for two weeks. I have a Bio test on Thursday. My Bio project is due the friday after next. I think I have a Spanish subjunctive test or at least one on vocab. I wonder if I had any math homework over winter break. I shall find out next period... in math.

Bio Day

I just got back from seeing The Royal Tenenbaums with my grandparents, Mia, and Kaija. My grandparents did not like it (much to my initial prediction) but I thought was a good movie. It had a great cast (great acting), plot, cinematography, and so on. I find myself liking Wes Anderson movies and I believe this is a movie that is better the more times you see it (kind of like another Wes Anderson movie, Rushmore). Anyway, go see the damn movie yourself (unless you're like my grandparents).

Yesterday I told myself that I was going to review some stuff for Biology because I have a test on the 10th. However, I thought to myself, if something distracts me (friends invite me to go somewhere or something) I might as well not do it because Biology is not as important as doing stuff with other people. I was distracted to say the least. My family (sans my dad) went to dinner (fish & chips) and thus my studies were delayed. The next morning (I woke up at noon) I read a few chapters for Biology and understood the material much better in my opinion. Before proceeding to do any other homework that I could have done at any moment during winter break yet I coveniently put off to the last weekend, my mom asked me if I wanted to go see The Royal Tenenbaums. One thing let to another which leaves me here right now writing this post.

Mia is making some sort of lentil soup right now as I wonder what I HAVE to do this winter break. Of course, there are many things in my list OF THINGS TO DO OVER WINTER BREAK in a previous post that aren't extremely important (i.e. memorizing some spanish stuff or studying math) but they ARE important nevertheless but I still will not do them because I'm a lazy sonuvabitch.

Do you ever faint? I'm not much of a fainter. In fact, I can't remember a time in my life where I fainted from being shocked. I guess things aren't that surprising too me, yet. Later in life I predict I will be shocked (for example someone yelling "BOO!" at me when I turn a corner) and instead of fainting I will have a fatal heart attack. I wonder what fainting is like.

Doh'ith

I was going to make a list of movies that I have seen in the past few years but NOT in a movie theater but I realized there are so many movies and a lot of them I have only seen 3/4 or 1/2 of so I decided to screw it. In the process however I remembered 7 more movies that I had seen in movie theaters and added them to the list in the post below.

Happy Discover Card New Year 2002

I just got back from seeing Ocean's Eleven, a remake of a movie from the 60s about eleven guys robbing five casinos (they only rob three in the new version though). I liked the movie a lot and I would recommend that if you plan on seeing, you should not read any reviews about it. I read a few shortly before Hoff and Nathan picked me up to go to the theater and they pretty much gave away the ending (which I will not disclose on this blog).

Today of course is New Years Day, brought to you by Discover Card. My New Years resolution is to purchase a discover card because T.V. told me so. I also hope to conquer some small, economically challenged country and start an empire there that will eventually conquer another small country. Was it that or did I hope to manage my sleep so I don't sleep 16 hours a day during breaks and weekends and 4 hours a day during weekdays? Oh well, neither of them will happen. I never make any REAL New Years resolution because I don't really find a significance of the date. Speaking of which, what is that smell outside? I can't describe it... smells like wet wood and candle wax. I am going to go investigate.
