Uncovered Microsoft Surface prototype

While the Microsoft Surface might seem to be a hasty attempt to cash in on some of the iPad’s success, it’s really the result of years of research. People might forget that the first Surface was actually a table. Such a design choice might seem strange, but recent photographic evidence shows that Microsoft was working on a DOS version of the Surface back in the 80s:
