Bag of Altoids tinsI’m not a hoarder. Honestly. But Altoids tins just seem too useful to throw out.

For years, at work, I’ve had the ritual of getting my venti vanilla latte from Starbucks, and following it with an Altoid. Some days are occassionally multiple-Altoid days.

When I ate the last Altoid in a tin, I couldn’t bring myself to throw it out. A few tins would end up holding change or some other office bric-a-brac, but the rest would go into a drawer. When there were too many slopping around in the drawer, I put them into a bag.

Over the years, the bag got pretty full.

That’s a lot of tins.

That’s a lot of tins

I kept thinking that some kindergarten class would love to have all these tins for craft projects. Instead, I left this bag tucked away in one of my drawers. Who said I didn’t leave a legacy at my job?
