New York City meets Munich

The Local Web

Snooping around the new EveryBlock NYC site for my ZIP code I learned a few things.

  • My building management company is trying to be competitive by going after the “lifestyle market”. Apparently that’s the same market where you can ratchet up the rent the maximum amount allowed by law every year, unlike our previous management company. My personal preference would be less lobby cocktail parties and lower rent, but that’s just me.
  • In the past two months, there’s only been one murder and no rapes. Sweet!
  • Places not to eat: Blimpie, 43rd Street Pizza and Bubba Gump Shrimp. But you already knew that, hopefully.
  • New York City is the proud home of two of the dirtiest hotels in the U.S! When you walk by the Hotel Carter, you can practically hear the bedbugs partying inside.

EveryBlock is now going to be a regular visit for me.
