The lab tests came back on Fred, the tiny piglet that was removed from my elbow. Apparently “angioleiomyoma” must be Latin for elbow pig, which I didn’t think they had back in ancient Rome, but there you have it.
The specimen includes a well-circumscribed nodule within which there are ectatic vascular spaces lined by plump endothelial cells. Peripheral to these vascular spaces there are cells having spindled, somewhat-blunt ended nuclei in this eosinophilic cytoplasms.
I always knew Fred was well-circumscribed. Aren’t all tiny elbow piglets?
What all that really translates to is this: the lab enjoyed the tiniest bacon they’ll ever have. And I can keep the rest of my elbow.
