Now that I’ve finally managed to secure a replacement Social Security card just in time for Social Security to be dismantled, I might as well use it to get a current New York State driver’s license.
While I was an international fugitive living abroad in Bermuda for five years, my New York state driver’s license expired. This, according to the great state I live in, means I have completely forgotten how to drive, and must reapply for a license from scratch.
Yes, that means getting a learner’s permit and taking a road test.
So while I’m not concerned about taking a written test and getting the permit, I’m certainly open for advice from fellow Manhattanites about any tips for a non-car-owning city dwellers trying to do the road test thing. I figure going through a driving school is probably the way to go, but that’s just a guess.
