To boldly go

Here’s an idea for a great, riveting reality television show:

Twelve contestants, who are all relatives or friends of people in dire need of a kidney transplant, compete to be chosen to receive a kidney from “The Donor.” The Donor, on the basis of competitions, eliminates the competitors until there is only one left. During the competitions, which can offer special bonuses, like safety from elimination, the contestants will have opportunities to discuss with The Donor why the person they are competing for is truly deserving of selection by The Donor. The final show will air with the actual transplant operation.

Now I just sit back and wait for the people at Fox to call.

Too tasteless? Don’t forget, this is Fox Television we are talking about!

And if U.S. laws about transplants get in the way, perhaps a version where couples compete to adopt a kid or something. That could work too.
