New York City meets Munich

Ho ho ho boy.

I turned the Christmas holiday into a five day weekend. That’s what happens when you are only allowed to carry over a fixed number of vacation days a year. Makes for a quiet office in December, that’s for sure. But I should stop kidding myself. When I’ve got time off, I never get around to posting.

In any case, I hope you all had a holly jolly whatever-it-is-that-you-do.

Us atheists here celebrated the yuletide with some holiday food and drink: meat fondue, mulled wine, roast duck, eggnog, and baked pancake. Tis the season for massive caloric intake.

This year I gave Conny View definition in a new window two games that have turned out to be quite good: Hoopla and Buyword. What makes both games great for us is that both can be played cooperatively. We love our games here, but I’ve learned Conny does not like to lose. Hoopla is an especially clever design, where all players work together solving creative communication problems to try and beat the clock. Since the maximum game time is 15 minutes, you are guaranteed short, lively games. We’re looking forwarding to springing Hoopla on folks at our next party.
