Dangerous Words

The Supreme Court, in discussing the abuse of government power in the name of national security, is apparently a threat to national security:

“The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect ‘domestic security.’ Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent.”

The ACLU, in one if its court filings, quoted the material above, which is from a publicly available Supreme Court decision.

The Justice Department censored the Supreme Court quote in the ACLU filing.

(Tip of the hat to Hit and Run for catching that.)
