New York City meets Munich

A rose by any other name server

Just a warning: Nosuch.org is changing DNS servers, so there may be turbulence ahead.

With luck, no one will notice. But I’ve been low on luck lately, so consider yourself forewarned.

I am migrating off the tremendously flexible and easy to use Easy DNS service because they are tremendously expensive. The feature I liked the most was their complete forgetfulness in billing. The last invoice I got was in 2001 for a year of service.

They finally woke up, and quite graciously are waiving charges for their screw up. But I was going to get off them anyway, and I might as well do it before my next bill arrives. I don’t really want to pay $50 for a year of DNS service I will soon no longer need (because my new host let’s me do the DNS magic I like, like subdomains and redirection.)

Some Nosuch affiliates may lose their “hosts” addresses during the transition. So if you go to a page by using an address like “leo.nosuch.org”, just move it around to “www.nosuch.org/leo/”. Or just wait a day or two for me to fix it. Your call.

Update:

Looks like we bounced a little email for about five hours today. All better now.
