Mingle slowly

I may be an extroverted exhibitionist, but I am a lazy extroverted exhibitionist. That’s why when ConnyWho is Conny? and I got to the Big Apple Blogger Bash last Friday, we grabbed the comfy seats as soon as we saw an opening. Since the event was so well attended, it was a matter of seizing the opportunity or playing “sardine” all night long.

This meant that the mingle and mix factor was lower than optimal. Sure, I know the theory of how to work a room, and I do enjoy meeting new people. But when the crowd gets above a certain size, I count on a form of human brownian motion to do the work for me.

Once we hooked up Ursula, Rickey and Tom, our mates from earlier Meetups, the company was good enough to justify being stationary. And if I hid behind Conny View definition in a new window, the attractiveness quotient of the table was also effective in luring other folks over. In spite of sloth we did meet a few fine folk, and a good time was had by all.

I even got a free light up pen, though sadly, I don’t know who from, since I don’t think anyone named “Stolichnaya” has a blog.
