We are family

It’s not every day you encounter love at first sight. If I hadn’t experienced it first-hand, I would think it’s nonsense. But, it does happen. It happened to us.

Leo the wheaten terrier pup

When >Conny saw the little fellow in the shop, she knew. He was the one. I’ll admit some jealousy on my part. After all, sitting at her feet is generally my job, and I don’t like to share. But we had both agreed to take this step, and now he we were at the pet shop, and here was the dog. We went for lunch. We talked. We considered. And then we went back and made it official.

Leo the wheaten terrier is the latest addition to our household. Four months old, and very much a puppy, he’s quite a handful, but a real delight. And I am not a dog person. I’m much more partial to cats. Now I’ve become a Leo person, in about a day. Even after he peed on my rug.

A dog is a big commitment, I realize. But, he’s a commitment made to celebrate an even bigger commitment: Leo is an engagement puppy. I asked my good lady if she’d marry me, and I’m happy to say she said “yes”. If all goes well, we will be married early September. And I have never been happier.

See what can happen when you write a web log? You might meet the woman of your dreams, fall in love, and get married. And if you’re really lucky, you’ll get a bonus puppy too.
