The official terse Nosuch review of “The Patriot”: cliche-ridden, manipulative, plodding Braveheart 1776 that will take three hours from your life and leave you feeling used. I want those three hours back. I think I only watched the whole thing out of sheer disbelief. At the end, I was rooting for the Red Coats, history be damned.

Does Mel Gibson have an axe to grind with the English, or what? James, help me out, you live next to these people, is that an Australian thing?
