Mistakes were made

New York City meets Munich

Six months

I am alive. My coworkers and friends are alive. I am healthy, employed and have a good woman who stands by my side. For every gripe I make about the nuisance of commuting and having my life on virtual hold for the past six months, I should pause and be grateful. I am a lucky man, all things considered.

There’s a part of me strongly compelled to go and see the Sphere again. I walked by this sculpture twice a day, and often watched tourists taking pictures of it, or kids playing in the fountain around it, only to be chased away by the security guards. There are afternoons that I spent my lunchhour pecking away drafts for these pages sitting on the benches around the giant brass ball, enjoying the sun and the life thronging around it.

That feels like a lifetime ago.
