Anchors Aweigh

February 17th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Poor James. Seems that he’s all annoyed that his anchors are broken since his web host changed their domain from to Since it’s so much work to do a search and replace on his pages, he’s decided he’s not going to bother. He doesn’t care about inbound links any more, and if I want him to keep putting anchors at the top of his posts, so I can link to individual posts, he wants me to pay him $10 per new anchor insertion. I’d link to his offer, but I can’t.

Well, James, did it occur to you that for all of us who ever linked to anything on, like your diary, also have to change all our bloody links too? My bill for fixing all my old posts to link to the right places is $10 a link. And I don’t have the luxury of doing a search and replace, because of how Blogger works.

Don’t be mad at me. Be mad at VeriSign. They are the ones who wouldn’t resell the domain back to you. Or be mad at Tim, the guy who originally registered your old domain, and then disappeared, leaving all his clan pals in the lurch. But I’m just the nice guy with the half-baked web tips who sends traffic your way. No need to bite this hand, you rabid Kiwi.

You musicians must drink a lot at those gigs, because that Martha Stewart joke wasn’t that funny. I’d link to the joke, but alas…

(Ok, it is funny, really.)
