If you are a small business that relies on PayPal because you don’t want to bother with setting up a secure web site (and no one would think of having a business that would try to transact business without security, would they*?), consider yourself duly warned. The clock may be ticking on that means of exchange.

*Note that they “…are planning to secure this site as soon as practically possible.” Apparently after two years, it’s still impractical.

Citibank, which unlike PayPal is a legal bank, offers a PayPal-like service called c2it. I thought I’d go kick the tires on it. After registering, I got an error page, and I can’t log in with my account because of a “system error.” Not exactly the kind of warm fuzzy feeling I want with a service that’s going to move money around for me. The server must be swamped with people from Louisana…
