Mistakes were made

New York City meets Munich

My windows machine assaults me with a ton of advertising, most of it due to KaZaa. Lately, it’s really been irritating with pop-ups every few minutes and banner ads with sound.

Since I use KaZaa to play MP3s, having it quack at me was too much.

Time to install AdSubtract, run Ad-Aware, and tweak the host file.

The thing that’s really annoying, though, is not the noisy ads, or incessant pop-ups, but it’s the stuff that you can’t see. Hidden programs that watch what you do, record it all, including what you put in secure forms, and send it to people you don’t know.

All this makes me very glad my primary machine is Mac.
