Talkin’ kink

Next Wednesday, August 8th, >Conny will be part of a panel at a >T.E.S. novice special-interest group meeting on the topic of “Beyond Novice.” There will be three or four other people joining her for a series of questions on what it’s like to transition from an >SM novice to a… well, to a non-novice I guess. I’d say “experienced player” but the amount of experience a person has isn’t really what makes a person not feel like a novice before. Like so much of kink, it’s more complicated. That’s why it’ll be a good panel, because everyone’s experience is different. She’s looking forward to it, and so am I.

Several weeks later, on Wednesday September 12th, the T.E.S. novice S.I.G. is kicking off its new track of presentations and demonstrations with an “Introduction to the Scene”. The founder of T.E.S., Pat Bond will open the whole thing with a few words, and then yours truly, Mr. Nosuch, will be giving the talk. It’s a huge honor, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity. And frankly, being the total ham that I am, it should be a lot of fun.

Luckily, I have a decent amount of time to prepare, because I’m going to need it. I don’t plan on giving a dry lecture, but more of a performance. It’s going to take a lot of work to get the material together and to rehearse the whole thing. I plan on exploring some of the material to be used in the presentation here, and feedback is always welcomed.

Of course, if you happen to be in New York City that day, and are interested in kink, by all means, drop on by. After the presentation, we’ve got an arrangement with >Gomorrah for discounted entry, and we’re going to head over there to mingle and play. Definitely a non-vanilla night not to be missed.
