Fetch my shears!

Conny View definition in a new window has told me she doesn’t care for sandals on men. I’m not a huge sandal-wearer, so that’s fine by me. However, I saw something on the plane that may just change all that.

A gentleman on the plane had taken the initiative and did a bit of innovation to his sneakers. He cut an opening in the front for his toes as well as an opening in the back. In essence, with a bit of brute force and a somewhat sharp object, he had transformed his sneakers into sandals! What creative genius! Conny had to restrain me in my seat to prevent me from offering the guy cash on the spot for such a bit of fashion inspiration. Not everyone would have the balls to take a hacksaw to a pair of Nikes and be willing to be seen on airplane with what looks like shoes ejected out of a lawnmower! I respect that, really I do.

Conny has told me if she ever sees me wearing anything even remotely like that, she’ll have me deported out of Germany in a New York minute. Something about the “fashion police” or other. Who knew Germany was so strict?
