So I’ve ordered the PJB-100 6GB MP3 player. What could be better than 6GB of portable MP3 music? How about an 18GB MP3 player for the home, with a built-in CD drive, ethernet, USB and a television interface? I want one. I want it now. Now! Now! Now!

Ok, it’ll have to wait. Mainly because I’m going into DVD withdrawl since my wife took our DVD player, and our AIWA mini home-theatre system. I think I’m going to get the Sony DAV-S300 Home Theatre system, and maybe the Sony SVR-2000 TiVo. Of course, then I need a new TV, since I currently own a tiny, 9 inch Sony KV-9PT60, which is the world’s smallest Trinitron. It used to be our TV in the bedroom, but it’s the only TV we kept from Bermuda. Now it’s my only TV. This might explain why I watch almost zero television now. It’s just too much work.

I really want a 16:9 TV, though, since I really love movies. Seems like the Panasonic CT-34WX50 is the best bet. I just want to see one before I buy it. Well, that, and I really should pay some bills before I drop $3,000 on a TV. Never mind that the Sony home theatre and Tivo is another $1,000 on top of that. And the home MP3 jukebox is $800. So, anyone want to float me $5,000?

I seriously have a problem with shopping for gear. I think I’ll drop some cash on people I owe money to first. I just have to keep repeating to myself, everytime I think about buying this junk: “Just don’t do it. Just don’t do it. Just don’t do it.”
