I ordered a book from Barnes & Noble online specifically because they offer same day shipping in Manhattan. The book was in stock, I ordered before 11AM… When I got home, no book. I wrote them an email asking what had happened. They responded at 3AM by email: “The item hasn’t shipped yet, so we’ll eat the shipping cost.” Of course, they don’t mention anything about when they hope it will ship. I will forgive them if the book is waiting for me when I get home. If it isn’t, I’ll have to make some cutting remarks and unkind comparisons to Amazon, and no one wants that.
